The Associate Manager, Project Management, Waxdale New Product Development and Strategic Initiatives is responsible for delivering projects with moderate to high complexity in the scoping, planning, execution, and post execution vertical startup. This role guides the team through these phases to ensure deliverables, success criteria, timing, and risk/mitigation profile is clear and executed. You will drive integration between local site and regional planning and execution resources such that it is aligned with business commitments, and will manage multiple, simultaneous projects, that can impact multiple business units across Waxdale manufacturing.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide key connection point between Manufacturing, RD&E and the NA Business teams as the “air traffic controller” for feasibility (technical, timeline collision points, resourcing constraints, etc.) of NPDs proposed or planned for launch at Waxdale (Processing formulations, Aerosols & Liquids finished goods, Components manufacturing Wax and Global component supply connectivity)

  • Provide project and technical leadership leveraging site and region cross functional teams to drive project scoping, planning, execution and vertical startup

  • Manage projects according to SCJ processes and best practices

  • Develop timelines, resourcing needs, key milestones, and risk/mitigation plans including collision points between business units for proposed and/or approved projects

  • Represent Waxdale manufacturing thru SCJ NPD processes; provide technical feasibility, resourcing, timing and cost feedback to optimize business case for key projects

  • Ensure cross functional ownership and coordination activities of functional team members to meet commitments of key deliverables (Coordination of FATS, SATs, PPVs, PLQs, prebuilds, startups, etc)

  • Track project progress against deliverables/milestones, issue status reports/updates, and escalate breakdowns and issues as necessary

  • Maintain Project Documentation (Master Data in PWA, MS Project Timeline, Stage Gate Documents, Risk Register, Issue Log, OneNote, Close Out Report, etc.) as needed

  • Manage communication plan internal to Waxdale team (Project teams and Waxdale Leadership Team) and external to stakeholders and sponsors

  • Model strong project management functional skills, including appropriate skills in effective communication, financial acumen, integrated risk management, project management, quality robustness, regulation & safety, scientific rigor, and technical curiosity

  • Draw on functional expertise to enable successful project execution against KPIs

  • Demonstrate SCJ Success Drivers and establish a “Mindset to Win” Culture

  • Apply in-depth functional knowledge to complete projects

Required Skills / Experience / Competencies:

  • Bachelor’s degree or relevant military experience considered in lieu of degree requirement

  • 5+ years of relevant work experience

  • 2+ years of experience in a moderately complex project management discipline

  • Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States

Preferred Skills / Experience / Competencies:

  • Project Management (PMI) certification

  • Experience with end-to-end product development, validation, & commercialization processes

  • Experience in new product launches, contract manufacturing, and financial analysis as it relates to operations

  • Experience to interface, lead, and build relationships with multiple levels and functions internal and external to the organization

  • Understanding of Early Management (EM) principles

  • Technical understanding of Aerosols, Liquids, and Injection Molding processes

  • Experience with Process Safety Management

  • Ability to motivate and influence non-direct reports

  • Possess clear and concise communication skills/collaboration skills

  • Drive accountability thru effective project management routines and rituals

  • Possess key attributes including creativity, adaptability, persuasiveness, perseverance, and strategic thinking

  • Demonstrates high degree of initiative and excellent problem-solving skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Project, Excel and PowerPoint

  • Fluency in English language, both verbal and written

Job Requirements:

  • Standard SCJ Core hours with occasional flexible shift relative to initiative timeline

  • Office environment primarily with the ability to interact on the factory floor

  • Less than 10% travel

  • Remote work is available once a week for eligible employees
