About The Role
As an Inside Sales Representative, you will be responsible for generating and closing new business within the geographically assigned territory. Working directly with individual customers and helping them through the complete lending process, including processing, evaluating, and underwriting simple to complex direct consumer applications. You’ll work closely with a network of strong bank business partners and will package and prepare credit requests for submission to partner banks for approval.
What You’ll Do
  • Work directly with individual customers via regional boat shows, networking, and other avenues.
  • Arrange, negotiate, structure, and close lending transitions for all customers in the territory.
  • Educate customers on the terms and conditions of their loan to ensure a clear understanding, while working hand in hand through the loan process and lifecycle.
  • Provide sound advice to customers regarding the advantages and disadvantages of different loan products and pricing policies and guidelines.
  • Promote sales and continually identify, develop, and maintain a quality network of business relationships.
  • Underwrite direct consumer applications for submission to partner banks: Specifically, analyze consumer credit applications quickly including calculating income ratios, collateral values, advance percentages, down payment requirements, maximum loan terms, survey/inspection requirements, and liquidity ratios, and determine additional information required for loan approval.
  • Adhere to all federal and state compliance guidelines relative to the position.
  • Build, strengthen and maintain relationships with partner banks and understand their underwriting guidelines and programs to maximize approval and funding ratios.
  • Work hand in hand with customers throughout the loan process and loan lifecycle, including working with a variety of bank partners, and collecting loan applications and information.
What You Should Have
  • Prior sales or underwriting experience, ideally within the loan or mortgage industry; usually gained after 3 years of experience
  • Familiar with the credit/underwriting process, ideally in the marine, auto, or RV financing space
  • Thorough understanding of banking or other financial institution experience preferred
  • General knowledge of Marine, Auto, or RV loan administration preferred
  • You are able to support via phone or email, and stay calm in all circumstances
