Full Job Description
This position is responsible for providing leadership and management of the Preplanning Solutions Sales Team. The VP, Strategic Partner Sales is responsible for leading the development and execution of the sales strategy, as well as leading a cross-discipline management team in areas such as sales enablement and partner success and collaborating with customer operations, marketing, reporting/data analytics to ensure successful execution of the Sales Team goals. This role is also responsible for developing and executing on the strategic sales goals and financial metrics of the Preplanning Solutions distribution segment.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Oversees and evaluates sales activities within the Preplanning Solutions segment, providing advice, counsel, and guidance to the sales and management teams. Creates and leads an environment that promotes achievement of business goals using management practices aligned with the company’s core values.
  • Responsible for leading the Preplanning Solutions segment towards effective business relationships and customized solutions between the partner, Preplanning Solutions, and TruStage for current and prospective partners.
  • Prospects for additional partners that will drive the successful execution of the Preplanning Solutions and CUNA Mutual B2B2C strategy.
  • Responsible for the development and execution of Preplanning Solutions sales goals and financial plans by collaborating with customer operations, marketing, and reporting/data analytics.
  • Responsible for implementing and participating in a strategic relationship management for all the Preplanning Solutions partners.
  • Maintains and incorporates thorough knowledge of competitive information, developing a position of influence in the marketplace. Possesses a strategic understanding of the Preplanning Solutions segment marketplace in order to proactively identify issues/opportunities/solutions.
  • Ensures common objectives are in place with other sales customer segments and sales operations to achieve sales goals and overall business objectives; establishes strong working relationships with our partners as well as internally at Preplanning Solutions and TruStage.
  • Continues to develop sales, business, and leadership competencies in self and other members of the Preplanning Solutions Sales Team; owner of the Preplanning Solutions Sales Team succession planning process.
  • Adheres to all sales and support processes that CUNA Mutual has determined as essential for distribution success.
  • Promotes a performance-based culture within the Preplanning Solutions Sales Team segment.
  • Conducts self in a manner consistent with established policies and procedures of ethical market conduct with high standards of honesty, fairness, and integrity.

Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Insurance or related field or an equivalent trade-off of related professional work experience; MBA desirable
  • Ten years of sales leadership experience preferred, with specific experience in field sales management; 2-4 years prior supervisory experience leading a medium-sized team
  • Strong business acumen, with deep understanding of the insurance and financial services marketplace
  • Proven experience in developing strategies which will improve competitive position
  • Seasoned understanding of the issues and track record of success in building market share in niche businesses
  • Demonstrated ability to assess business risk and understand implications of proposed actions
  • Highly advanced leadership skills that develop and maximize the talent of both individuals and teams
  • Strong collaborative/influence skills ability to manage both up and down
  • Well-developed communication skills. Strong sense of ownership and accountability
  • Willingness to travel (50-75%)
Compensation may vary based on the job level, your geographic work location, position incentive plan and exemption status.

Base Salary Range:

$125,000.00 – $313,000.00
